About Badger
Badger honors U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Mark Carter, 27, of Fallbrook, California, who was killed during combat operations in Iraq on December 11, 2007.
Ninety squat cleans, ninety pull-ups and 2.4 km of running make Badger a long grind with a light barbell. The load is easy for a single rep, so the challenge is repeating good cleans while your legs and lungs fade.
Tips for Badger
- Cycle the cleans in sets of 5 to 10 with a short breath between. Long sets at this weight still drain your legs before the run.
- Keep the pull-ups in quick sets of 6 to 10 so your grip survives three rounds of cleans.
- Use the run to recover, but keep moving. Walking breaks here add up across three rounds.
